HEALTH IS WEALTH

For 80 percent of Ugandans living in rural areas with a closest medical care facility in 10 km, under staffed and not well equipped, the population of Bugweri is not exceptional.

Over 2.5 million Ugandan’s died of HIV/AIDS and currently 1.4 millions are infected by the disease this has led to bigger numbers of orphaned children.

Treated mosquito nets are being distributed by the government to combat the wide spread of malaria but less than 10 percent of children under five years are sleeping under insecticide treated nets ranking Uganda among the world’s most affected by the epidemic and remains the country’s number one killer claiming lives of both children and adults worth to say that almost half the population has once suffered from malaria.

Other diseases include Anemia, Tuberculosis, Acute Diarrhea, Dysentery, and Typhoid among others.

Our approach to join the struggle to fight for lives of our people has been partnering with Idudi medical Clinic where our orphans, disabled and vulnerable persons can be attended to quickly and payments, we clear them later.

Offering of emotional support to orphans whose parents died of HIV and strengthening information of its prevention through guidance and counselling.

Clean water is a bigger factor we consider, safe drinking water we use at our orphanage is collected at the nearby borehole though we pay for it monthly for maintenance since it is for the entire community  available but demand outstrips.
